The Day Five vlog in New York City was short, because we were tired from our day in Manhattan the day before and we had a huge schedule in Manhattan planned the day after. Thursday was also our laundry day, and the machines took a lot longer than we anticipated to do our laundry. Click below to read more.
We spent Thursday lounging around. We didn’t get out of bed until late, and spent the entire time relaxing. After lunch, we went to Andrea’s house! Her mother made us dinner and we enjoyed seeing her family and being entertained by her many cats.
After dinner and conversation, we went downstairs and as you’ll see in the vlog, Andrea showed off one of her most treasured items: a hat that shows I Heart Armadillos. No, I did not give her the hat. My dad did.
When Andrea first visited me in Arkansas, she got to experience the South in all its glory, meaning she came during a record heat wave in the middle of July. My parents were particularly horrified how she had never seen an armadillo in the wild. If you’ve never been to the south, let me tell you: they are everywhere.
Andrea got her wish, when one night, my dad started yelling for us, and practically shoved Andrea out the front door for her to see an armadillo wandering around our yard. Years later, my dad finally found the perfect armadillo hat, and sent it to her for Christmas. The last time I visited her in 2016, she had it proudly displayed in her room. Dad insisted on getting a picture of her wearing it. I did him one better, and got it on video.
Like we say in the vlog, it’s a short video. I was getting the start of a migraine, and took medication that makes me drowsy, on top of already not getting much sleep. Day Six completely makes up for it. There is so much footage, the video may have to be split into two parts! Hopefully it will be up soon!
